More about the ACAF Seal

Group of Older Foster Youth

"At a recent child-parent matching event, we had 60 applicants attend. Out of the 60, there were 10 same sex couples and 12 individuals. So we know that at least 1/3 of the attendees were LGBT - and probably more. If we were not working with the LGBT community, that would be 1/3 fewer applicants that we would be able to consider for our children."

  • Your agency, while generally supportive of LGBT adults, has staff who are negative or ambivalent about LGBT adults or about the LGBT community.
  • Your agency provides any professional or individual services to youth over age six.
